Mizrahi, Yitzhak


Son of Eliyahu and Miriam. He was born on May 18, 1925, in the city of Batsa, Iraq. Graduated from elementary school. He served in the Iraqi army but shortly thereafter deserted with his two friends and together they came to Israel. A year later he moved to Haifa and joined the Haganah. Worked as a stonecutter and wished to see the building of the land and its blossoming. Participated in the conquest of Haifa. after a while, he was transferred to Ramle and participated in battles for her and her conquest. Time past and he fell ill, and seven months later, on the 15th of Iyar 5709 (15.5.1949) died from his illness. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa. He left a wife and two children.
