Mizrahi, Yigal

Son of Israel and Naomi. He was born on February 12, 1952 in Rehovot. He studied and was educated at the “Moriah” school and later at the school for apprentices, both in Rehovot. He was a very devoted son to his family, loved sports and knew how to respect the work, but his main love was building work. From his savings and the labor of his hands he would buy reading books for his education and the development of his personality. He loved life, and being cheerful and full of vitality, he wanted to produce whatever he could. Yigal was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in early January 1970 and volunteered to serve in the Israel Air Force on April 16, 1970, before serving five full months. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Rehovot. The parents received a letter of condolence from his commander, in which he and the soldiers of his unit expressed their sorrow and in the process he appreciated the son’s operation in the unit. The director of the Moriah school, who for many years was Yigal’s educator, brought a line of condolences to his character and noted two special qualities: “Yigal was a very cheerful, pleasant and courteous child.” Yigal’s name is commemorated in a memorial to the fallen soldiers that was set up in the Moriah school.
