Mizrahi, Sasson


Sasson, son of Pnina and Nahum Mizrachi, was born on October 22, 1931 in Jerusalem to a family of former residents of Kurdistan. Was the youngest son of eight children. He attended elementary school. In order to continue his studies and study in the course of his studies, he was accepted to the agriculture, working in northern Tel Aviv, where he spent three years and received a final certificate. He returned to Jerusalem and when he went to work he became a construction worker – a stone-thrower – and supported his family. In the War of Independence, he volunteered for the Gadna Company, the Yehonatan Company; he was only 16. He was involved in Sheikh Jarrah and participated in the operations of his battalion, including the occupation of Ein Kerem, where he was shot and killed while carrying out his duties at Deir Abu – Tore on the 16th of Tammuz 5708 (23.7.1948), was buried in Sheikh Bader A. On August 30, 1950, he was transferred to the eternal military cemetery at Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
