Mizrahi, Gad

Mizrahi, Gad

Son of Nora and Eliyahu. Was born in 1922 as the youngest son of a Jewish family from Peqi’in, an ancient Jewish settlement whose inhabitants have not been exiled from the country since the destruction. Gad was an active member of the youth branch in Haifa and worked to support his mother and two brothers. He later joined the Haganah. He was a modest young man, solid and tall, loving his country, its landscapes and its flora and fauna. On 29 Tevet, January 20, 1939, when a group of workers left a metalwork shop in Haifa, a bomb was thrown at them. Gad was killed and five workers were injured. He was brought to eternal rest in the Haifa cemetery. He left a mother and two brothers. A list in his memory was published in Davar.
