Mizrahi, Daniel (“Danny”)


Son of Rahamim and Malka. He was born on January 3, 1931 in Jerusalem. At the age of 15 he went to work to help his parents, first working as a courier in the publishing company, then specializing in mechanics, and finally working as a driver. While he was in the underground he studied sabotage. Carried out reconnaissance and mine-leaving operations and worked in a warehouse for explosive materials. He then moved to the Haganah and enlisted in the mobile police and was trained in a Gadna training camp. Participated and was wounded in the battles of the Old City and its surroundings. When he recovered, he continued to be patient. He recently served as a driver in a school for infantry officers. He fell during the performance of his duties on the 17th of Tevet 5710 (5.1.1950). He was buried in the She’el Adar Bet cemetery in Jerusalem and on the 17th of Sivan 5761 (21.6.1951) he was put to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
