Mizrachi, Moshe
Son of Leah and Eliyahu, was born on July 15, 1925 in the Manshiyeh neighborhood on the border of Tel Aviv-Jaffa, grew up in the same neighborhood where he completed elementary school. From Manshia he and his parents went to the streets. At the age of 12 he went to work to help support the household. He worked in all hard work and among other things he kept vineyards in Zichron Yaakov. When he grew up he worked as a driver and took care of his parents’ existence. In World War II he joined the underground. In 1944 he joined the British army. Upon his release he went underground again. After the outbreak of the War of Independence, he moved with the rest of the fighters from the ranks of the Lehi to the ranks of the 8th Brigade and was transferred to the “Armored and Raid” battalion with the rank of squad commander. He embarked on various activities in which several enemy villages were conquered. The last time he was on vacation, he was full of life and energy, often encouraged his parents, saying: “I am going to drive the enemy out of the gates of the land.” Moshe fell on the 4th of Tammuz 5708 (11.7.1948), during Operation “Danny” in the area of Beit-Naballah was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Nahalat Yitzhak.
