Mizrachi, Menachem (Nachamu)
Menachem, son of of Pircha and Yaakov Mizrachi, was born in 1928 in Safed and remained there until the day of his shocking death. In his hometown he graduated from the Alliance school and after completing his studies served as a clerk at the local bank. Was a member of the Haganah. On 30 Kislev, December 13, 1947, he went down to the Arab quarter in his city, According to testimonies collected, it can be assumed that the Arabs murdered him, abused his body and eventually burned him and scattered his ashes. Menachem was the first victim to protect the capital of the Upper Galilee and his death served as a warning to the Jews of Safed,.
