Mizrachi, Israel


Son of Shabtai and Hannah. He was born on January 15, 1947, in Moshav Ein HaEmek, where he studied at the Sha’arei HaEmek School. Then he moved to the “Sadeh” school where he completed his elementary studies. An employee of the Haifa Municipality began his studies at the Amal school one day a week. He made a living from mechanics. He had athletic leanings and he devoted his spare time. Was drafted into the IDF in August 1965 and served in the Armored Corps. When the Six-Day War broke out, he was still in compulsory service. On the first day of her battles, on 26 June 1967, as a tank commander, he was hit by a direct hit at al-Jirdi in Sinai. He was buried in the emergency cemetery in Bari and later transferred to the eternal rest of the military cemetery in Haifa. In the condolence letter of the battalion commander in his name and in the name of his comrades to his unit, to his family, he proudly noted his steadfastness, his supreme spirit and his self-sacrifice during the battles.
