Mizrachi, Avraham (Avi)


Son of Gorgi and Simcha. He was born on the 13th of Elul, August 20, 1937 in Jerusalem. He attended elementary school in Jerusalem, and after graduating, studied at the Szold High School. He was the instructor of several classes in agriculture. He participated in the Land of Israel Department, and accompanied many classes on their trips, because he loved the country. He was drafted into the IDF in July 1956, and after his discharge from the army, he went to reserve duty, in January 1964. In the reserves, he served as a platoon sergeant, and received great respect from his commanders and subordinates. They loved him for being a loyal friend, and a good and dedicated commander. On the 20th of Kislev, December 10, 1968, he died in the course of his duties, in Wadi Mas’ud, in the southern Golan Heights. He left a wife, a son and a daughter; The daughter was a month old when he fell. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Kfar Szold. Kfar-Szold (Hakibbutz Hameuhad) published a pamphlet dedicated to his memory called “In our midst.”
