Mishvili, Menachem


Son of Rivka and Pinchas, was born on 27.7.1923 in Alexandria, Egypt. When he was about one year old, his parents immigrated to Israel and settled in the streets. Where he completed elementary school and then worked in orchards, packing and wrapping citrus fruit. He loved his quiet and modest way of life and bought him acquaintances and friends. During the Second World War, he enlisted in accordance with the order of the National Institutions of the British Army and served four and a half years in various places in the Middle East. After his discharge he worked as a construction worker in Kiryat Haim, where he joined the ranks of the Carmeli Brigade during the winter of 1948. Menahem participated in the battles of the Western Galilee and his release: Shavei Zion, Nahariya, Hanita, Metzuva and Acre. And attacked the Gilboa area, and on the night of June 2-3, the Carmeli Brigade attacked Jenin and occupied the outposts controlling the city. In this battle he fell on the 3rd of Iyar 5708 (3.6.1948) On the 20th of Av 5710 (3.8.1950) he was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery Military presence on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
