Mishan, Haim


Son of Livneh and Yaakov, was born in the city of Aleppo, Syria in 1929. In 1942, his brother-in-law, the husband of his older sister, came to Israel and took the boy, who was his son, to live in Givatayim. In the ice factory he was very devoted to the family and supported it with all his might, and before he was 17 years old he left his true age and joined the army, served in one of the Givati ​​Brigade battalions and participated in escorting convoys and battles near Latrun and Deir Ayoub. With his battalion in Operation Chametz to encircle Jaffa, was the force that conquered Tel A-Rish, but was forced to withdraw under the pressure of an enemy counter-attack, which fell on April 28, 1948. In his military cemetery in Nahalat Yitzhak, and his commander wrote: “He burned his soul to allow his comrades to escape a trap.”
