Mishan, David


David, son of Moshe-Yosef and Regina Mishan, was born in 1910 in Tiberias. As a child, he studied in a “cheder” but at the age of ten he moved to Egypt and grew up in his uncle’s home. He worked as a clerk at Barclays Bank in Egypt. During the Second World War he served in the French army. In 1945 he managed to reach Eretz Yisrael. He worked as a customs officer and was active in the ranks of the Haganah. David was drafted into the IDF in December 1950. In the course of his duties, on 27 Kislev, December 15, 1952, he fell and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Haifa.
