The youngest son of Chana and Michael, who was named after his uncle who passed away at a young age. Was born on the 5th of Sivan 5762 (5.6.1982) in Ashdod to a family of three children. A brother to Miriam and Moshe. Mordecai’s childhood and youth went through Ashdod. As a baby he was plump and smiling, and as a child he was naughty and charming. He studied at the “Meginim” elementary school and at the “Makif Aleph” high school, in an increased course for computers and the Oral Law. He completed his studies successfully, with full maturity. Mordecai was loved by the teachers and stood out as a religious student in a secular school, who managed well and even swept others behind him. Most of his friends used to call him Mutti. He was a social activist at the school, took part in the shows and took an active part in the technical installations that were related to them, mainly electricity. Together with his studies, he served as a young instructor at the Neveh Yonatan Community Center. His apprentices wrote him a diary that expressed their great love for him. Moti was a strong, handsome guy with bright eyes. He had a developed sense of humor, was always surrounded by friends, loved to laugh, and of course specialized in making people laugh. His humility was known as well as his patience and kindness. Whatever he did he excelled, and wherever he set foot he left a positive impression. In his free time, Moti was very fond of sports, and stood out in every industry he took part in. He was skilled at housework and liked to cook. Moti had gold hands, and all that went wrong at home always managed to fix. His good hands were also expressed in graphic talent, and during his military service he designed his unit’s insignia and the emblems of other units in the IDF, and he loved life and loved to sing and dance, and he was very close to his family. At the end of his studies at the high school he was written about him in the yearbook: “Moti is a strong guy, big but gentle, in drawing his talents demonstrating. “Many friends wrote to Moti, perhaps more than anyone else.” At the end of July 2000, Moti enlisted in the IDF and was assigned to the Engineering Corps. From basic training and during his military service he filled a variety of positions. He completed an officer training course and an officer’s course in combat engineering, serving in the Efraim Brigade for a period as commander of the Engineering Department, and later as deputy commander of the Military Industries division in Judea and Samaria. And was the mainstay of his unit in the summer of 2003. He was survived by his parents, brother and sister. After his fall, he was promoted to captain
