Minas, Noam-Abba


Son of Hedva and Yaakov, was born on 25.6.1945 in Ramat Hashofet. Noam studied at the elementary school in his kibbutz and completed the theoretical high school in the Har Efraim educational institution. Noam was drafted into the IDF in early November 1964. After completing basic training, he was sent to the Infantry Corps Course and was assigned to serve as a Grade Instructor in the Engineering Corps, completing a series of courses: a plasim course, a forklift driver course and a bomb disposal course. His commanders, who always praised him for the way he did his job, elevated him to the rank of sergeant, noting that his behavior was very good, and his commanders’ assessment was “disciplined, orderly and enterprising. Noam was discharged from his regular service in early May 1967. He married a wife, left the kibbutz and moved to live with his family in Holon, and as a reservist Noam participated in the Six-Day War And during the Yom Kippur War, and he was given the signals of the systems On the 10th of Adar 5785 (March 3, 1985), Sergeant Noam fell during his service and was put to rest in the military cemetery in Holon. He left behind a wife, two daughters, a son and a family. In his letter of condolence to the bereaved family, his commander wrote: “I have known Noam for many years in the reserve unit, and he has always impressed me as a responsible and dedicated person who is willing to give his whole life for the tasks he was assigned.
