The only son of Chana and Menashe was born in Tel Aviv in March 1930. After completing his studies at Bialik Elementary School, he worked as a mechanic, his favorite profession, He went to training at the age of 15 in Ashdot Yaakov, Afikim, and Dalia, where he was trained in the Palmach and received his military training. He devoted his spare time to reading and learning. His will was to deepen his opinion. He was courteous and friendly, a devoted son to his parents, but the fate of the nation was his main concern. When he enlisted, he told his mother that for the sake of liberating the land he was ready to give his life. The War of Independence found a bear in the Upper Galilee among the defenders of Ramot Naftali. He went through the difficult battles to defend the isolated spot and at the beginning of the campaign he fell heroically. On the 22nd day of Adar I 5708 (22.2.1948), during a heavy attack on the agriculture, acted as a sniper from an isolated position, succeeded in delaying the enemy’s progress and causing many casualties. Thanks to his courage, the defenders of the place were able to prepare for effective defense, but Dov himself was killed by enemy bullets, which severely abused his body. He was buried in Ayelet Hashahar. On the 27th of Elul 5709 (21.9.1949) he was put to rest at the military cemetery in Nahalat Yitzhak.
