Miller, Nathan
Nathan, son of Chaya and Chaim Miller, was born in 1910 in Lodz, Poland. In his city he attended elementary school and from his early days he stuck to Zionism and socialism. He was a member of the Hitachadut party and a member of the Hehalutz Haklali. In 1932 he immigrated to Israel, settled in Bnei Brak and worked in all sorts of jobs. He was friendly and a devoted father. From his early days in Israel he was an active member of the Haganah. With the intensification of the siege on Jerusalem, at the beginning of the War of Independence, a full mobilization was enlisted and attached to the defenders of the city, and in the course of his duties Nathan fell from a sniper’s bullet on Yaakov Street on 26.4.1948. He was buried in Sheik-Bader Aleph. He left behind a wife and two children, a boy and a girl. On the 28th of Elul 5710 (10.9.1950) he was put to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
