Son of Lotte and Hermann, was born on November 18, 1919 in Göttingen, Germany. In his city he completed high school and as a member of the Habonim youth movement, he completed his studies as an electrician mechanic for a working life in Eretz Israel. He joined the “Aliyat Hanoar” training camp, and when he was not granted an immigration permit due to his poor vision, he and his family left for Santiago, the capital of Chile, in 1937. In his efforts, a youth movement was established there in 1939, Kedma, which later joined the world movement of Hashomer Hatzair. He participated in the founding of pioneering training and worked there during the years 1945-1947. At his initiative, a well-developed factory was established in the agricultural farm. At the end of July 1947, he and his wife arrived in Israel with the first group of Chili pioneers. They joined Negba, the first group of pioneers from Latin America. In Negba he trained in the Haganah and from the beginning of the War of Independence he participated in its activities. He volunteered to accompany a truck on a necessary journey to Kibbutz Gat, and on the way back he fell near Crete, on the 23rd of Kislev 5708 (December 6, 1947). He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Negba. His son was born about six months after they fell.
