Milikovsky, Amnon


Amnon, son of Sarah and Yehoshua Milikovsky, was born on April 22, 1928 in Jerusalem and grew up in the home of his grandfather, the teacher Yerachmiel Milikovsky, in Safed. When he was 16 years old, he joined the Palmach, and in that framework he traveled the length and breadth of the country. During the struggle against the British he participated in various underground activities and was even wounded in one of them. He was sent to the Negev, and at the time of an Egyptian bombardment, when he commanded an armored vehicle near Ruhama, he fell on the 4th of Tishrei, 5709 (October 7, 1948). He was buried in Dorot. On the 17th of Iyar 5709 (4.5.1950), he was put to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
