Mikha, Raphael (“Rafi”)


Their son was the firstborn of Moses and Esther. He was born on 29.1.1949 in Jerusalem. After the family moved to Nahalat Yehuda, Rafi took care of the fish in the aquarium and afterwards the pair of pigeons in your home. One day the pigeons were devoured, and then the period of caring for the dogs began. His concern for animals proved that his Lev was soft and good. He belonged to the Hanoar Haoved Vehalomed movement in Rishon LeZion. Rafi studied at the Brenner School in Nahalat Yehuda and completed his studies there. He did not want to continue his studies because they weighed him down and Raphi decided to devote himself to the mechanics of ships. Raphi was Simcha with his work and his employers loved him for his dedication to work. When he was about to reach the age of 16, Rafi decided to see the world a little and to pay for his journey he worked as a mechanic, and after flying for the first time in his life he traveled to Eilat and was very Simcha with his achievements. After serving for a year in the Merchant Navy, Rafi joined Kibbutz Tel Reim and from there was drafted into the IDF in July 1966. All his life he was devoted to the house, loved his family and his friends loved him. He served in a parachute Nahal unit and volunteered for the most difficult missions, but he was still on duty. He fell in combat at the Hadas outpost on the Jordan River, on the 9th of Shevat 5768 (8.2.1968). He was laid to rest at the cemetery in Rishon Letzion.
