Michalovich, Michael (Miguel)


Son of David and Ida. He was born on August 6, 1949 in Montevideo, Uruguay. When Michael was 14 years old, he immigrated to Israel with his family, and since he loved agriculture, he studied in an agricultural institution in Afula, and at the same time completed his elementary studies. Because he had lost his father at an early age, he was the breadwinner of the family. He did his work not only out of responsibility but also out of great affection and was helping his family in all. Michael worked for three years in the “Muller” factory in Nahariya and in the evening he studied at the ORT vocational school in Haifa. From childhood he had a penchant for music and he learned to play the violin. Michael was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in mid-May 1968 and assigned to the Armored Corps, and during his military service he used his vacations to work and help his widowed mother, because his concern was with his family and only afterwards. Michael from wounds wounded in an enemy ambush on the banks of the canal. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Nahariya. His name and photograph are included in the booklet “Company L is released”; In addition, a Torah scroll was donated in memory of the Yemenite synagogue in Nahariya.
