Michael, Nathan
Son of Rivka and Eli, was born on November 25, 1926, in the small town of Balspic, the region of Pulticheny, Romania, to a poor family and a commission. Immediately after finishing elementary school, he took up the burden of living and worked as a tailor. When he was 14 years old, he joined the pioneering movement “Dror Habonim” and left for training. In 1945, at the end of the war, he arrived in Italy and was accepted to the “youth village”. Where he learned a little Hebrew and was one of the founders of the “Dror circles” from which the “Alonim” group was later formed. He immigrated to Israel with his group. He was interned in Cyprus and arrived in Israel in May 1947. Together with his friends, he joined Kibbutz Beit Hashita and was very attached to kibbutz life. Nathan was politically and class-conscious and was Simcha to unite his party Poalei Zion with the Hashomer Hatzair party on November 21, 1947, and was sent to represent the Alonim group at the national gathering of Mapam immigrants.
