Mevorach, Moses
Son of Meir and Tova. He was born on Thursday, November 3, 1943. His parents worked in agricultural work in Moshav Tzur-Moshe, where they were friends, and when Moshe graduated from elementary school and at the ORT vocational high school, He joined the IDF in October 1961 and served in the Paratroopers Brigade during his regular service. Upon his discharge with the rank of sergeant, a participant in the moshav took an active part: he was elected as a member of the secretariat and was involved in guiding the local youth, which he would have heard of. He proved to the members of the moshav his high morality in his various acts as mediator and mediator between the moshav committee and the demands of the youth. Thanks to him, cultural and sports activities reached heights that the moshav did not know before. At home he tried to help his parents in any way and brought back an abandoned land that many had abandoned because he took it upon himself and succeeded in rehabilitating it and turning it into a flowering orchard. Every effort was in his opinion worthwhile to expand and establish the agriculture, and in his last letter did not forget to add: “Dad, do not neglect my orchard.” He was called up for reserve duty from time to time, and this was the case before the Six-Day War. Although he was not in good health, he stabilized in his unit at the outbreak of the war and was placed in charge of a machine-gun position in one of the houses in Jerusalem to cover the force. On the second day of the fighting, on May 6, 1967, A cannon-shell that penetrated the house and Moses found his death. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. In April 1969, the Tzur-Moshe Committee established a monument in his memory. In the book “Marinas Gabro” of the Paratroopers Headquarters was devoted a page to his history and description of his last battle. His name was mentioned in Moshe Nathan’s book “The War on Jerusalem”.
