Meuda, Itai

Ben Tovah and Sa’adia. Born on 15.6.1969 in Moshav Ahihud, third son of a family of six children. He studied at the Achihud elementary school and at the high school in Kfar Haroeh, and he received a scholarship from the Ministry of Education. Prior to joining the IDF, he made every effort to help his parents in their labor-intensive farm, which is based on dairy farms and seasonal vegetable crops, and was drafted into the Golani Brigade in July 1987. He completed a long and difficult basic training, went on basic training and continued his combat course in the course of infantry commanders. At the end of the course he received the rank of corporal and was sent to the battalion, to the command staff, while he was thinking about his parents and the workload of their farm, and he knew that they could not keep the rehabilitator on their own and that they could not rent any help. At the beginning of February 1987, Itay left for a course for infantry officers. His classmates noted his friendly behavior, his great sensitivity and his aspiration for perfection. On the 12th of Sivan 5749 (15.6.1989), he fell with me during his service. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Nahariya. Survived by his parents, two brothers – Yair and Roni, and three sisters – Kochva (Ziva), Kalanit and Hadar. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, his commander wrote: “From the beginning of his career in infantry, he stood out with me as one of the best fighters in the team. He was a good noncom, and therefore was sent to officers’ course, and honesty, friendship and a desire for perfection in his performance were the central axis in his personality. ” His family commemorated his memory in a Torah library donated to the synagogue in Ahihud.
