Metzger, Yehuda
Son of Rina and Yosef, was born on 26 August 1962 in Tel Aviv. Yehuda studied at the Rokach Elementary School in Tel Aviv, studied for one year at the Beit Hakerem Elementary School in Jerusalem, continued to study at the Rokach School, and graduated from the vocational high school “Yad Singalovski” in electronics. Yehuda was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in July 1980, and as a professional was placed in the Electronic Corps and Electronic Systems Technician, after serving two years during which he was awarded the rank of Corporal. He took the course and completed successfully. When the Peace for Galilee War broke out, Judah immigrated with his unit to Lebanon. On the 28th of Av 5743 (7.8.1983), Lieutenant-Colonel Yehuda fell in battle in Lebanon during the Peace for Galilee War and was put to rest at the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. After they fell, Yehuda was promoted to lieutenant. He left behind his parents, two sisters and a brother. In his commanders’ evaluation of his functioning as an officer, he said: “The concern for the individual worried him even when he was not in office, and his efficiency and original way of thinking were among his outstanding virtues. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, the defense minister wrote: “He served as a personal example of his subordinates and took care of their needs.” Yehuda was an excellent officer,
