Mesika, Yitzhak (“Zaki”)


Son of Nissim and Sarah. He was born on March 13, 1931 in Tripoli, Libya. He studied there at the Talmud Torah and in an Italian school. Immigrated to Israel in 1949 and his family joined a year later. A year later, he was drafted into the IDF and when the Sinai Campaign broke out, called to reserve duty and fell in the battle of Rafah on 27 March 1957. He was buried at the Military Emergency Cemetery in Bari and on the 28th of Tishrei, 1957) was put to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
