Meshulam, Yosef

Meshulam, Yosef

Son of Aharon and Rachel. He was born on April 25, 1956, in Haifa. He spent his childhood in Kiryat Haim. And after that the family moved to Neve Sha’anan. He studied at the Kishon State School. He continued to study at the ORT vocational school, in a carpentry track, because he liked to have his hand in anything related to woodwork. While he was diligent, he repaired and repaired every wooden object he had encountered. He completed his carpentry studies as a trainee in a carpentry workshop. After graduation, he found work in one of the city’s carpentry shops. Yossi was an introverted child and easily made connections with friends, and only with a few did he get along. Lala had a devoted and loyal friend, devoid of any selfish appeal. But some have abused his kindness and innocence. Yossi treated his parents and family with respect and helped quite a bit with the housework. He treated the two younger brothers with love and devotion. One of Yossi’s favorite hobbies was painting. He spent the money he received from his father mainly to buy paints and brushes, and for many hours sat and drew landscapes or portraits of friends and relatives, and was impressed. He also participated in a painting course at the Abba Hushi House in Neve Sha’anan, where he continued to cultivate his talent. He also became interested in modern music, purchased records and spent many leisure hours listening to music. At the beginning of May 1974, he was drafted into the IDF and was appointed to the engineering corps, where he took courses and served as a platoon commander, and on the 26th of Av 5725 (July 3, 1975) Yossi was killed while serving in the military cemetery in Haifa. He is followed by parents, a sister and two brothers.
