Mermelstein, Harel

The son of Liora and Jacob. Harel was born in Jerusalem on the 5th of Av 5739 (5.8.1979). Harel joined the IDF on January 8, 1998. He served in the Israel Navy, served in the naval commando unit, continued his career as a lieutenant, and fell in combat near Tul Karm on 26 September 2002. He was twenty-three when he fell. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl, Jerusalem. Survived by parents and brothers. Harel was promoted to captain.
