Mermelstein, Dina


Dina, daughter of David and Mala, was born in 1953 in Wroclaw, Poland. She immigrated to Israel with her family in 1957. At first, the family lived in the Tivon transit camp, and from there moved to Moshav Arugot. Dina was a member of the Hanoar Haoved Vehalomed movement, a branch of Kfar Saba. During her vacations, Dina used to work in the Beit Rivka hospital in Petah Tikva, thus alleviating the suffering of the incurable patients. Dina was drafted into the IDF in mid-December 1971 and was placed in the pedagogic reserve following her acceptance to the Beit Berl Teachers’ Seminary, and after completing her studies, she returned to the IDF to fulfill her duties and was assigned to a teaching unit in the Southern Command. On the 23rd of Nissan (23.4.1976) Dina fell during her service. and was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Kfar Saba. Survived by her parents, sister.
