Menachem, Yosef (“Papo”)


Son of Efraim and Regina. Born in Bombay, India, on December 11, 1931, after completing his elementary studies in India and three years of high school, the family immigrated to Israel and entered the Etzion Ulpan in the Jordan Valley of Jerusalem in January 1955. He participated in the Sinai Campaign and later was called up for reserve duty from time to time. Even at the outbreak of the Six-Day War, called to reserve duty and participated in it. He then left for reserve duty and during the course of his service, he fell on the ninth of Tevet 5728 (January 10, 1968), leaving a wife and child and was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
