Son of Moshe and Simchah. He was born on the 26th of Kislev 5707 (26.11.1946) in Rehovot, where he began studying at the Magenim Elementary School in Holon, then moved to Kibbutz Ein Hashlosha, where he continued his studies in which he excelled. After a year at the kibbutz, he returned to his home and this time to the framework profession until he joined the Gadna-Yam course. He was a member of “Hapoel” in Holon (soccer player) but during his spare time he worked in painting, he is his favorite hobby. He was drafted into the Navy in October 1964 and served in the Navy’s flagship ship “Eilat” and rose up the ranks until he reached the rank of First Sergeant, after which he signed a permanent position and remained on the destroyer. The whole team showed his friendship in his willingness to sacrifice everything for his friends, and in stormy sea storms and even in other sea operations, he would stand coolly and bravely, and every task he was assigned and fulfilled would be successful and his commanders would admire him. He was commanding artillery crews who drowned two Egyptian torpedoes, and his subordinates honored him for his understanding Mocha and his healthy logic when he came to their aid in solving their problems, he kept their mood and did not retire from them but sat with them in leisure time on the voyages or in the port, he loved the work and hated idleness, but here came the bitter and hasty day, On October 20, 1967, when the destroyer Eilat was attacked by Egyptian missiles and drowned in front of a Romanian beach in northern Sinai, and Uri was also found dead, but since his body was not found in the depths of the sea, The military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. Afterwards, a gravestone was erected separately in the Haifa military cemetery. In the book about the fate of the destroyer his name was mentioned. This fallen hero is a “maklan” – a hero whose burial place is unknown.
