Menachem, David (Gideon)


Son of Bracha and Yosef, was born in 1920 in Port Said, Egypt. When he was 14, he arrived in Israel on December 20, 1934, and completed his studies at the Nordia High School in Tel Aviv and at the Tel Aviv Law and Economics School, where he studied for another year. He was accepted as a clerk in the legal department of the Food Control Department within the administrative apparatus of the Mandatory Government, and since he knew the three official languages ​​(Hebrew, English and Arabic) he was translating. Later, when his brother known as “Yuki” opened his theater, he worked as an administrative director. David was a member of the “Maccabi” movement and an active member of the Lehi underground, and later joined all the members of his organization to the IDF and joined the “Armored and Raid” battalion in Brigade 8. He successfully completed a wireless course (where he completed only five days) Operation “Danny”. In this operation he fell on the 3rd of Tammuz 5708 (July 10, 1948.) He was laid to rest in the Nachlat Yitzhak military cemetery.
