Melisov, Pavel (Pavelik)
Son of Faina and Yifim. He was born on May 18, 1971 in the city of Gorky in the USSR. Pavel grew up and was educated in his hometown and completed his studies at the English language school. As a child, he loved reading, especially science fiction books. Ten years later, his brother, Yuri, was born. At the age of eleven, Pavel participated in the Department of Astronautics. He was interested in astronomy and won first places in contests on this subject, and even invented communications in space for emergencies. Toward the end of his high school studies, Pavel received an invitation to study at the Aviation Studies University in Moscow, but after his Jewish origin was discovered, they refused to accept him. Pavel passed the Gorky University entrance exams with honors and began studying at the Faculty of Technophysics, where he acquired many friends. During his studies, in mid-July 1990, he immigrated with his family to Israel and fulfilled his dream of living in Jerusalem. In his first year, he attended the preparatory course at the Lev Institute in the city. At the end of August 1991, Pavel enlisted in the army and joined the academic reserve track and began his studies in economics and business administration at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where he completed basic training, and was a good soldier who performed his duties in a thorough and quiet manner. He fell during his service on 21 Elul, September 19, 1993. He was buried at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem, leaving parents and brother.
