Meiri, Shlomo (Shlomi)
Son of Tziona and Naftali. Born on May 15, 1967 in Pennsylvania, USA, he immigrated to Israel with his family when he moved to Bat Yam, where he began his studies at the Tachkemoni religious elementary school in Bat Yam and continued his studies until the 10th grade He returned to his home and completed his studies at a high school in Tel Hashomer, where he was friendly, easily connected and loved by his friends, and had a sense of humor and curiosity. He enjoyed trips and traveled extensively throughout the country, during his free time he was active in sports, and especially loved the sea and swimming in it. At the beginning of August 1985, Shlomi was drafted into the IDF. On the 31st of Av 5748 (31.7.1988) he fell while fulfilling his duties and was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Holon. Survived by his parents, brother and sister – Zvika and Ariella. In his letter of condolence to the bereaved family, his commander wrote: “Shlomi was perceived by us as having a high personal ability, initiative, loyalty and a great sense of personal integrity. Officers and commanders of the unit, hurt and mourn his death. “
