Meiri, Amichai

Son of Shmuel and Shoshana. He was born on January 12, 1945 in Kibbutz Dan. He graduated from the kibbutz high school. He belonged to the Ha – Shomer ha – Tsa’ir youth movement. He was full of energy to make ideas and as he grew older he became one of those who could be relied upon for their work, which was done with an overwhelming enthusiasm. Was conscripted into the IDF in August 1963 and attained the rank of lieutenant-colonel, on the 17th of Marhvan 5762 (12.11.1965), during a tour of the Korazim area to Ibtuho, he fell in the line of duty and was put to rest in the cemetery in his kibbutz. Lt. A pamphlet entitled “Amichai” appeared, including friends’ comments and a collection of letters.
