Meir, Shimon


Son of Miriam and Meir. He was born in 1947 in India and immigrated to Israel with his family in 1954. The family moved to Moshav Almaa in the Galilee and found their livelihood in agriculture, where Shimon passed elementary school, and when he reached bar mitzvah age, the family moved to Moshav Aviezer In the Adalam region of the Ella Valley, where he studied at the regional high school of Even HaEzer in Moshav Naham, was active in the company, diligent, enterprising and willing to provide assistance to others when necessary. In November 1964 and was assigned to serve in the Supply Force. After his discharge from compulsory service he returned to the moshav and continued to lead an agricultural life. In 1974 he married Sarah and the couple had four children – Shmuel, Marit, Timnat and Avi. Shimon was a loving father and devoted family man. In January 1988 he was drafted into the Israel Air Force. He fell in the army cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem and was succeeded by a wife, four children, a father, six brothers – Nehemiah, Menachem, Abraham, Eliezer, Rahamim and Reuven And four sisters – Miriam, Leah, Rachel and Edna, and the family commemorated him in a synagogue.
