Took the escape route through Hungary and Austria to France and spent about five months in training camps of the Haganah. He wrote to his parents: “When we arrive in our land we will know how to stand up for our souls and prove to the entire world that we, the people who have always suffered the burden of strangers, will not allow foreigners to oppress us anymore.
