Son of-Aharon-Reuven and Chaya, one of the founders of the Shiller group. He was born on February 24, 1932 in the group. From his father he drew spiritual wealth and fanatical loyalty. He studied at the joint school in Givat Brenner and spent the last year of his studies (twelfth grade) in Jerusalem in the kibbutzim class, and from his youth he became a vocalist and a vocalist in his singing and choir work, and he loved sports and athletics. In 1949 he was drafted into the IDF and underwent a course for officers and various courses for commanders until he was a platoon commander. Returning to civilian life to the group began to engage in various activities, especially in the fields of culture and education. During this period of service he was promoted to Major. At the outbreak of the Six-Day War he led his company in front of the gates of Gaza. Where he was hit directly by an anti-tank shell and his burns were mortal; But this did not distract him from the command and he led his men to safety. His leadership and actions after his injury were commended for courage, passivity, devotion to the cause, and concern for his people. On the first day of the fighting, Aryeh commanded a company of half-tracks that was in the process of conquering the situation of the stomach in the Gaza Strip. Arieh jumped out of the half-track, wounded and burned in the middle of enemy shelling, and took care to evacuate his injured men, but ordered the battle to continue, saving his soldiers’ lives. G. (June 16, 1967) died of his wounds. He left a wife and three children. He was laid to rest in Kvutzat Shiller. After they fell, a year-long field-race is held in his memory as well as a youth athletics competition. The Shiller group published a booklet in his memory called “Leaves”. A book about him and his memory bearing his name was published. In the book “Bimkomim”, which was published by the Union of Kibbutzim and Kibbutzim in memory of the fallen members of the European Union, several pages were devoted to it and to its memory. From his estate he was brought to the “Gogli Esh”, Volume IV, the library of the estate of the fallen boys in Israel.
