After completing his regular service, he was offered the option of continuing to serve in the permanent army. He accepted the proposal and was sent to a company commanders’ course, at the end of which he was appointed commander of an artillery battery in the battalion. His commanders saw him as an excellent officer who deserved a special prize for flying and staying abroad, and when he returned from the trip he fell in the course of his duty on 24 January 1990 and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery of Moshav Moledet.
