Ben Hissin and Saleh. Ahmad was born on 9 March 1971 in Beit Zarzir. He grew up and was educated in his village, where he completed his studies. Ahmed’s family wanted him to go to medical school, but Ahmed saw the police and helping others with his mission. He joined the police on 8 September 1993. Ahmed served in the Jerusalem area at the Ma’aleh Adumim station. The service was very difficult, dangerous and very far from his family. Every day he went to Jerusalem for safekeeping and returned home at the end. He was hardly at home and did not spend time with his wife Dunya and his three daughters. Ahmed requested a transfer to the north, and although his unit was difficult to give up, the Minister of Internal Security intervened and the request was finally approved. Ahmed was supposed to go to serve by the house in the north, but this did not happen. On February 18, 2002, at 17:05, two patrolmen, Ahmed and his friend Ahed Rahal, went to Jerusalem. As they drove, they noticed the slowly driving Peugeot, which aroused their suspicion. At the A-Zim checkpoint, they made a U-turn and returned to Ma’aleh Adumim. They noticed the suspicious vehicle standing by the side of the road and a driver standing about twenty meters from the vehicle. The two approached the driver, talked to him, and suspected a man when he began to rummage in his pocket. Ahmad went with the driver to the suspicious vehicle, while ‘Ahed checked and discovered that the vehicle was stolen. Ahed rushed back to the two men to warn Ahmed that he was a terrorist but did not get to them. The terrorist entered the car and detonated the bomb. Ahmed was killed in the blast, while Ahed and another driver were wounded. Advanced Sergeant Ahmed fell in combat. He was thirty-one years old when he fell. He was buried in the Mazarib cemetery in Beit Zarzir. A crowd of family members, members of the unit and his commanders accompanied him on his last journey. The area was bathed in the blue of police shirts. Ahmad left behind a wife and three daughters, brothers and sisters. The police chief eulogized Ahmed: “In his death, he saved the life of many people.
