Matos, Shulamit
Shulamit, daughter of Batya and Gershon, was born on September 2, 1931 in Haifa. Shulamit succeeded in her studies, and excelled in the various sports fields. She then joined Betar, and after graduating, she began working in a textile factory to support her parents. She joined the ranks of the Irgun in 1945. Although she was engaged almost every night in training or performing various functions in the Propaganda and Recruiting Department, she managed to hide her activity from her parents. On the 9th of Adar II, March 20, 1948, Shulamit was killed at one of the border posts Jaffa – Tel Aviv. She was laid to rest in the Nahalat Yitzhak Military Cemetery. Her memory was immortalized in the book “Zichron LeNetzach”.
