Matniyah, Nativi


Son of Leah and Shmuel Tanchum, was born on March 19, 1931 in Ein Ganim near Petah Tikva and completed the PIKA school. Because he tended to mechanics worked in the garage “blue and white” as an apprentice, and to study in the profession called professional literature. He was a member of Hanoar Haoved and when he was 15 he joined the Haganah. When the War of Independence broke out he kept within the boundaries of Ein Ganim. Matania joined the army before he was 17 years old, served in the Golani Brigade, took part in the battles and fell on June 11, 1948 in the Arab Sejera, carrying ammunition to the front position, and his body was taken out of the battlefield only two days later Facing the enemy and a bullet in his forehead, was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Afula.
