Masenberg, Jacob


Son of Leah and Yehiel Meir, was born on December 28, 1929 in Petah Tikva. He excelled in his studies at Netzach Yisrael, received a scholarship and studied for two years at the Yeshurun ​​religious high school. He was a member of the “Bnei Akiva” organization and was known for its religious consistency in theory and practice. He was fond of all his guides, friends, and apprentices. At the age of 14, he joined the Haganah, and after the Black Sabbath (29.6.1946), many of the leaders of the Yishuv were arrested and weapons searches were carried out in many communities, he became a member of the Irgun underground and also excelled in his steadfastness and dedication. Yaakov fell in the Irgun’s action to occupy Rosh HaAyin on May 30, 1948. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Petah Tikva.
