Markowitz, Mordechai

Mordechai, son of Dina and Dov Markowitz, was born in Rehovot in 1955. When he was thirteen, his father was killed in the Six-Day War. The mother, who was left with the worries of earning a living, barely managed to cope with the double roles and when she finally got on the road, she contracted a serious illness and within a month passed away. At the age of fifteen, Mordecahi was orphaned and lonely. At the beginning of February 1974, Mordechai joined the Israel Defense Forces. Hedied on April 17, 2000 After a long struggle with a serious illness, he was forty-four years old and brought to rest in the military cemetery in Rehovot and was buried next to his father and mother.
