Mariuma, Yoel
Son of Tzvaria and Ezra. Born on October 12, 1958 in Tirat Hacarmel, to a large family of children. He began his studies at the Degania Elementary School in Tirat Hacarmel and continued his high school studies at the Shifman School of Accounting, specializing in thrillers and westerns, including in his film version. He was drafted into compulsory service in the IDF in January 1977 and was assigned to the military police as a desertionist. The service was loved by him and he acquired many friends, including prisoners. He treated them all impartially and for this he was respected. He was also known for his resourcefulness, which saved him life. At the end of his regular service he joined the ranks of the career army and advanced to the rank of Major. In that framework he met Geula and married her. Yoel fell during his service on April 19, 1986 in a road accident and was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Haifa. Raya, Daughter of-Sivan, and twelve brothers and sisters – Yona, Yaakov, Baruch, Carmela, Smira, Ruthie, Moshe, Tamar, Yossi, Orna, Amnon and Yehuda. In his estate there are songs that testify to his sensitivity to others. The family commemorated his dedication to the Rambam synagogue in Tirat Hacarmel
