Margalit, Yair


Son of Yosef and Rivka. He was born on March 15, 1938 in Tel Aviv. He began his studies at the school for the workers’ children and graduated from the Geula high school in Tel Aviv. He was loved by his teachers, teachers, and classmates for his modesty, honesty and goodness. Was always ready to lend a hand to the weak. His high qualities also accompanied him in the army, in which he would encourage his comrades-in-arms and feel the help of all who failed and failed. He joined the army immediately after completing his studies, before he reached the age of enlistment – in August 1955, and by doing so he said he would advance to the Hebrew University in Jerusalem for his studies in the humanities and political agriculture. He faithfully and devotedly fulfilled every task assigned to him. In the course of his duty, on 10 March 1956, he felt a grenade that was about to explode, and then he found extraordinary courage and courage when he caught the grenade in his hands and fell on it. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery at Nahalat Yitzhak.
