Marcus, Zvi


Son of Rivka and Aharon, was born on February 28, 1929 in Israel to parents, farm workers, in Ramat Yishai (Jedda) in the valley. As a child, the family moved to Kfar Ganim near Petah Tikva. After graduating from high school, he decided to leave the moshava and learn a profession, and his parents helped their son to realize his ambitions and sent him to Haifa to study at the vocational school near Petah Tikva, He joined the Hashomer Hatzair movement during his stay in Haifa and remained in the company when he returned to his parents’ home and maintained contact with his friends and prepared to join them when they left for training. His comrades in the Palmach as part of a “recruited training” joined them. He received his training and training in Kfar Menachem. Zvi served in the Harel Brigade, participated in activities in Jerusalem, and in the battles at Kibbutz Ramat Rachel. When the enemy entered the farmyard, he was hit by a grenade and fell on the 17th of Iyar 5708 (May 26, 1948). He was buried in Sheikh Bader Aleph. On the 28th of Elul 5710 (10.9.1950) he was put to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. Survived by his parents and sister Hanna.
