Marco, Eliezer
Eliezer, son of Rachel and Shaul Marco, was born in 1964 in Haifa. In November 1982, Eliezer was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces, completing basic training, He served in a Northern Division in Battalion 77, initially as a technical sergeant and later as a battalion electrician. In January 1986 he signed a career army service and was appointed an outstanding soldier. He was highly respected in various positions. On the 23rd of Tammuz (July 30, 1986), Eliezer fell during his service in a road accident that occurred near the Yagur junction. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa. Survived by his parents, a sister and two brothers. He was twenty-two when he died. His parents donated a Torah scroll to the “Eliyahu HaNavi” Synagogue in the Sprinzak neighborhood of Haifa, and also donated Torah scrolls to the synagogue in the 77th Battalion Synagogue.
