Mansur, Moshe


Moshe, son of Mazal and Shalom Mansur, was born in 1928 in the Yemenite Jewish community in Aden. He completed elementary school and in 1941 immigrated to Israel with his parents. The family settled in Kerem Hatemanim in Tel Aviv. He was a strong healthy teenager, a sports fan and an outstanding fighter (he won a competition in Haifa) Moshe made a living as a cleaner. At the beginning of the War of Independence he enlisted, served in the Givati ​​brigade, and participated in the battles in the south. On the 1st of Cheshvan 5709 (November 3, 1948) in an attack on Regiment 7 of the Egyptian “Burma Road”, Moshe was killed. He was laid to rest in the Varburg military cemetery.
