He always served as an example to his colleagues in his diligence. From his youth he was an art lover and during his spare time he painted and engaged in various manual tasks. All his life he had been devoted to his widowed mother and cared for his family. Ezra was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in early February 1972 and was assigned to the Israel Air Force, where he was trained as a soldier and was assigned to serve in one of the bases in the southern region. He was known as a technician who can be trusted. “During his entire service in the Israel Defense Forces, he tried not to worry his mother, often visited the house, and made sure to phone and write letters to prevent her from grief and worry. He never complained about his difficulties and did not mention his achievements. He was quiet and withdrawn. When the Yom Kippur War broke out he served as a Hawk missile technician in the Sharm al-Sheikh area. On October 6, 1973, Ezra was hit by an air strike and was killed, brought to rest in the cemetery in Holon, and was followed by a mother and brother, he was promoted to the rank of sergeant. In his letter of condolence to the bereaved family, He was very fond of his friends and commanders and his death was a great loss to all of us, I knew him well and I know that all his thoughts were for the benefit of the IDF and his family. He always combined the good of both. I firmly believe that he was a good son, just as he was a good soldier. “
