Avner, Ben Shoshana, and Sa’adia was born on September 30, 1950, in Ramat Eliyahu.Avner was drafted into the IDF in mid-November 1968. After completing basic training, he was sent to a drivers’ course and was ordained as a truck driver and assigned to the armored corps headquarters where he served as a driver. He was always a good and devoted friend, and was always willing to help others and never refused to help, both in advice and in action, and was therefore loved and accepted by all his friends. Today, he will become independent, and he would go out for reserve duty and fulfill his duty When the Yom Kippur War broke out, Avner was drafted and sent to Sinai on October 18, 1973. He joined a convoy of vehicles that made its way to Sinai, and suddenly the Egyptians opened fire, his vehicle was hit and Avner was killed. He was brought to eternal rest in the Rishon Letzion cemetery and left behind his parents, three brothers and two sisters, and was given the rank of corporal. His family donated a Torah scroll to commemorate Avner’s name and memory.
